Never be afraid to hit the reset button early!
4 months into my final weight loss journey and gradual lifestyle change and I have consistently dropped 5lbs. a month and have hit my 20lb weight loss benchmark this morning.
The thing I have noticed the most about the last 4 months is the magnitude of how simple things can be when you don't focus on them. I truly haven't put much effort at all into losing this weight, but have simply made cognizant higher quality decisions related to my overall health on a daily basis. I feel like if people would address things in life with this exact mentality, there would be much less stress in the world.
The thing that excites me the most about this benchmark is the fact that I have not set foot in a gym more than a handful of times to get to where I am. I do plan on upping my calories out in December and throwing in some weights, but I want to use this as an educational opportunity for someone out there that may struggle with weight loss.
There are a lot of coaches and trainers out there that will take someone that is morbidly obese and they will throw way to much at them at once. They will have you on a calorie deficient diet, lifting everyday, doing fasted cardio in addition to the weight training and it just swings the pendulum way too far in my opinion.
I encourage ANYONE to pick up the book The Slight Edge that talks about making micro changes on a moment by moment basis that allows for a crescendo type effect on your lifestyle. This can be applied to anything you do in your spiritual, financial, relational, or physical life.
If you're ever the type of person that has struggled or had questions about some of the things I have encountered in my life, please feel free to reach out to me at anytime. I am by no means an expert in anything, but I have dealt with all kinds of junk in my life like narcissistic relationships, depression, loneliness, self doubt, morbid obesity, total financial loss, spiritual emptiness, physical disabilities, traumatic brain injuries and several other things along the way. plus size wedding dresses with color
The most important thing I have learned so far in 2017 is that you are only as great at life as the community you choose to surround yourself with. I truly hope that all of you are able to begin 2018 early and start considering how you are going to make it the best year of your life!
